1. Historic Events:
During the times of the romantic period the united states banned outlawing in the british empire of importing slaves for . Also during this time one of the most important was the international bill of rights was signed just another step toward people having much better lives, alongside with the statue of liberty being unvieled. Then finally in 1865 the American Civil War ended, this restored some order of peace to the people in America.
2: i think that life for them was just too much overwhelming, like slavery and the civil war happening at the same time which people just asked for peace and to be safe untill many things had changed over time making their lives a little bit better.
3:some poems were based on the average everyday lives of some people that has experienced effects from the war, The poetry of the major Romantic writers mostly concerned with the war—Blake, Wordsworth, Coleridge, Byron, and Shelley, talking about liberty and justice. The French Revolution provided a ready focus for British poets. Even before the Revolution took place, the thinking which they got inspired.
Shelley also made use of the broadside to circulate war verses. His early opposition to the war, as well as to the aristocracy and Napoleon, is demonstrated in his Esdaile Note-Book poems. Since poets who supported the war as well as those who opposed it use the same terms, some distinction must be made between them according to the context in which the terms are used. Certainly the use of "liberty" in the lines:
Yet, happy Britain!—with proportion'd weightsGuard the just balance of thy three Estates; For, in that balance only, canst thou findOrder and rule, with Liberty combined. Cautions to England
differs alot from the concept expressed by the author of Ode, Written on the opening of the Last Campaign:
. . . if on this hour The fate of Freedom shall depend—If o'er this earth th' Eternal Pow'r The scale of Justice now extend. For then, O Spring, thy sun shall see The patriot flame triumphant shine;GALLIA shall bid the world be free,And WAR his blood-stain'd throne resign!

from A Journal of the Plague Year
it talked about how a plague had returned to holland and how he experienced it and since there was no printed newspapers to spread rumors and reports on what was happening, the only way to let everybody know was by mouth but when people did talked about it nobody believed nobody. so the plague began soon where two man had died of it in december 1664 the at that point people were starting to get concerned and begin to alarm everybody but it was too late anyways and people started to die from the plague.
i think it was just terrible how the plague had began without anybody knowing of it only becuase they didnt have for printed newspapers to alarm them and died of the plague, i think that was something they really needed back to help the people out .

Jonathon swift in Moderast proposal
talks about how he wants to help out the poor in the community in ireland thinkin that he can solve the poverty and the famined mostly within the area of the women and thier children how at a certain age around twelve of children will become more poorer and more hungry, where at the same time mothers try to do prostitution in order to get money thats how he thinks, how he sees them through his eyes. it also show alot of irony on how he keeps on proposing on helping out the children and how that they are all homeless bums who cant do anything help themselves out in a way with the help of the government.
Satire definition
Satire: irony, Sarcasm a caustic wit in stupidity. like making an unecessary remark to mock somebody when answered just pure sarcasm, Mad tv is one of them acting like other famous celebrities and shows, movies making them look stupid. Epic movie, copy every movie and mix it up with comedy and such
Glorious Revolution
In the year of 1688 through 1689 it lead where to the deposition of James the second and the ascension of william the third and mary the second sent to the english throne those were some of the events known as the glorious revolution there was alot happening in religions, in decisions made in courts and parliament, politics, in to which religion would be dominant, later on james the second was on throne, he was a catholic king wanting to change the state relegion of england then after A number of Whigs and Tories entered into an alliance and a letter, signed by seven of them, then carried to Holland by an admiral disguised as a sailor. This letter invited William and Mary to bring an army to England to drive out James the second.
and even though James wanted to battle and had a large amount of army men against william of orange he couldnt do anything becuase so many officers and his men had left to the other side deserting thier king. james the second could not do anything so he fled and was soon exiled and thats when the glorious revoltion had ended. later on mary his daughter since he was married to william they soon afterwards became king and queen of england.
I think this was really important to know that, of a king trying to break the rules a bit by changing relegions of a state and fighting back by dethroning james for their religios rights which at the end it kind of backfired on king james.

Art lesson #2 (Basic shapes) 2:10 - 3:30
in this lesson Basic shapes i will learn how to observe as a framework in drawing any subjects that i choose for a model in the introduction of the first page, as i was reading it said that in the last lesson where i was using a grid to help create a drawing, it explained that the use of the grid is limited in a real life scenario, like such as drawing a real live animal. using a gris is not practical in doing that since the animal would not stay still for you.
and so i t read on that freehand drawing was most important to an artist drawing freely and that is one of the topics in the book, as i turn the page there was an activity where i was to grab a glass of water fill it to the middle and sketch it, identify it really good without me ever lookin at my paper, even though it didnt look as perfect it said not too worry since it was just practice.
the next thing it read was the positive and negative spaces when doing a drawing, it read that many objects that i want to draw will have complex intricate shapes, and that i might find it kind of challenging, and one way to improve doing that was using positive spaces and negative spaces, it showed me alot of techniques in doing that. heres an example of positive and negative spaces

after all that the next topic was shapes and volume, gave me some excercises on doin that of different shapes as cube, sphere, cylinder, cone. sketching them out and putting in the volume to it. at the very end of the lesson the assignment was a small house using negative and positive spaces helping me out alot in outlining first the drawing with a 2B pencil then filling in the volume finishing off with details.

Art lesson #3 (lines and Measurements) 3 hours
In lesson 3 its called; lines and measurements, in the first page, it explained how to uses my pencil as a tool to determine angles, check alignment and measure porportion and what a grid is good for how it makes a drawing aligned well to have it drawn exact th same, with details and centered correctly on the paper, it showed alot of examples on making one. There are alot of ways to make a grid, one it showed is to make an X kind of grid by having the T-ruler to help you, first measure one inch each sides of the paper, later then you draw a line from each edge of the paper into the middle of the page making a dot in the middle to center it.
Thats one way to create a grid (line of angles) another way it said was just a simple straight lines graph making straght lines from top to bottom and drawing a few horizontal lines from side to side left and right, it then instructed me to practice both of them on a piece of paper so i did, was easily done in a few minutes, i read more into it about it untill later on it talked about Axis in how its a line upon which to align and construct the shapes of a subject.
then afterwards there was an activity for me to do, to build a drawing of a fountain around its central axis that was pictured in the book, there was two blank boxes, in the first box it said for me to draw only the axis of the fountain, and the second box said to draw the axis again but to build up the basic shapes and imply the volume to finish the rest of the drawing.
There was another activity to practice on, in the next page showing a photograph of a mudhouse tellin me to use line for alignment, then creating a freehand drawing using the lines drawn on a space provided using them as guides to check my work for accuracy with me using my T-square ruler and HB pencil i followed directions and finished. when finished the activities there was a gallery of drawings from students showing me of examples of what i just done, i looked through them and studied them well, it helped me out a bit a better understanding.
At the end of the lesson there was an assignment like always, it read that after i have practiced all the activities i was to begin the assignment, and return it when finished, i read the instructions to choose a subject out of two given in the following pages, then to draw an axis line very lightly in the center of my paper to start my drawing, then to lightly draw the basic shapes on and to show the volume of the subject (which bother way its a picture of two monkeys) it was drawn with an HB lead drawing pencil and i made sure that the drawing fit comfortably within the sheet of paper in the middle not too small or large.
determining the angles, i used my T-ruler to add the lines for alignment, and measuring the picture to make sure the proportions are correct, accurately, after finishing got my eraser and erased every pencil smudges i had within the whole drawing cleaning it up, making it professional looking.

Art Work lesson #1 (learning to see and draw) 3 hours
On Summer of July 7, 2008 i enrolled in an Art instruction School in Minneapolis, Minnesota and later got accepted, i received lesson book number one by mail in about a week since it is a distance education and training council thing. I then opened the lesson book called; learning to see and draw. On page one, i started to read a few steps in how to begin sketching simple designs for a beginner artist. It showed a lot of examples on these pages so i studied them carefully and looked at it in a way how they wanted me to sketch it.
As a practice i got a 2B lead drawing pencil with an extra eraser a molding eraser at side which is a nice eraser to have to erase small spots usually a normal eraser wouldn't be able to do, so i read the instructions and it read for me to begin sketching all shapes of every kind, square, circle, triangle, octagon, Etc. But before i could do all that it told me to hold the pencil correctly by putting the pencil in between the index finger and the first finger with the thumb just right under it setting against the pencil, making it comfortable as could be for the artist.
So i began to draw shapes on a blank page inside the lesson book i began to draw lightly as possible so if i were to make a mistake it could be erased easily when needed as it said in the book. After finishing drawing them i turn to the next page and read more in tips in to being an artist and to have the right tools in drawing for example like a drawing pencils of different kind of lead in them from medium pencils, hard soft, light2H, Hb, to HB1, Hb2,7B, 6B, 5B, 4B. every kind to making a drawing as perfect could be for shading, next it said for me to have was a T-ruler which is shaped like a T for better measuring in drawing.
As i kept reading, it showed pictures of drawings to show as examples made by artists using shapes as i did in different features you could use like a shape of a dogs head, you would first lightly draw a circle as the head and then the body, oval shaped and so on, to completing a drawing such as that. im reading more and more about that untill at the end of the lesson it said to for me to draw a certain picture for them to test my skills and see what i have learned so far.
I read the instructions and it read, for me to draw the picture which was a cartoon dog only face area,it said to take my time, and when finished to mail it back to them for it to be graded, when done reading i grabbed my drawing pencil eraser found a quiet place with no noise got comfortable, cleaned my area so the drawing would not get messy with food or dirt or so, and i began, first lightly drew the shape of the head circular, then sketched in the eyes, almost oval liked, then slowly drew the ears messed up the first try erased it and got the second time wanting the ears to be perfectly aligned and shaped right using the T-ruler perfect as could be, the nose was next oval shaped vertical after finishing doing the simple shapes i needed to begin on filling in the shading and details.
I got a 4b pencil to shade in the eyes making them really dark, leaving some small white spots so as if the eyes were to be shiny, then used the same pencil to fill in the area of the nose it was just all black. and the rest of the face was light gray color so i grabbed a light lead pencil a number 2H lightly shading everything. since the dog had spots that were black i used 4B pencil again drawing in mid-sized spots, aslo same pencil to shade the ears black, after all that i was finished and so i erased all uneeded marks cleaning messy smears on the paper, when finished i mailed it.
