topic one 7 habits of successful plc students

i have to admit that i have flaws in being a student, one of them is being present on time for class and sometimes not even being present at all, but i will change that by cutting time on some of my stuff and be prepared on time. i think that i develop good study habits, taking notes and having to review them afterwards if necessary, but sometimes i would forget to do that, still working on it.


My learning through service is finally over but i am happy to of learned all this information in screen printing and has been a great experience throught the time ive been there. taaking those stuff that has been taught to me will last quite some time and i willl use them in my future career and also help me out alot in my life , like being patient staying clean, be on task be computer smarts to be able create this type of art ive learned alot.

topic 5 career exploration

the survey i took today did agree with my type of work i am doing in ,y service learning, i know i am going to have challenges, everyday. everybody will have challenges in pursuing there career, so far i havnt had any negaitve experiences through my service learning well other then having to peel of stickeers for hours but im starting to get used to it. positive experiences has been. still learning new stuff little by little, all i am looking forward these weeks is still having positive experiences and hope to not have any boring stuff not doing anything . just something there for me to do.

topic 10 communication skills

assignment 1#: one of three types of communication is, cell phone which is handy to have with at all times, but could come with many problems, you may not have many bars or reception if you are far away from a place and the call could not transfer. Another type of communication is by mail but could take some time to arrive at a place, although it depends if its far away or not, the some problems could be with that though, is mail possibly getting lost. last type would be by e-mail which all kinds of problems and barriers could come with that like spam or viruses getting inside and causing all kinds of problems.


Assgnment #2: communication skills for me i would say intermediate, since i am bilingual, talk english and spanish it takes alot to get used to it im still working on it though, i think i communicate with everybody around me, it really depends on the person if it is someone who you can get along with easily and knows how to be funny and with that i communicate differently also, i think i still needsome work on it on both languages especially on spanish though, i want to perfect it.

my experiences so far has been going good, actually better than last time, there is an employee there that is being trained for that kind of job and as my supervisor is teaching this person, at the same time im learning also as i observe teaching her things i wasnt taught before, and in the following weeks i expect to learn more and more .

topic 8: Workplace safety

Task one: Some of the potential hazards that can be found in my workplace learining of screen printing would be, first off, is handling the razor kind of a knife which is used to cutting the paper from the logo stickers peeling it off. this razor is very sharp and should only be used in your workstation for that only use. another hazord would be printing the pictures and logos on the t-shirt working with heavey machinery and also picking up the shirts out when it is steam pressed which is hot where you could burn yourself very bad.


Task two: In OSHAS safety and health topics i read one topic where machinery in the printing stuff on shirts has caused many deaths i read one them where a 19-year old worker was crushed by a screen printing press when the infrared emergency stop reversed the motion of the printing frame faster then normal as usual. i understand how just with one small mistake like that could happen when working with machinery could cause for something fatal. and learned how unexperienced i am in the business, knowing i should be more careful in handling situations like that.

Task three: For now in my workplace learning i have been doing nothing much, for that reason becuase business has been slowing down and it could get worst in the future in affected by the economy. so my time being there has been very slow, my experience so far has been the same except for the work part. although that is the only negative experience im in. but i am expected to still be there and make the best of it of what i can do and be helpful as much as i can, like cleaning up the place something like that.

Topic 9 Attitudes

1). I'll say, on a daily basis im a calm laid back guy with, i guess with a positive attitude, i think it all depends every morning i wake up since every day is always a new day, its all good unless the envoirnment around you somehow riuns your day for example, going late to school and having to be given an absence, due to traffic or just having to overslept. another thing would be is the people around you, they could some how make you get angry for some reason, like me, if provoked and offended i dont hold back, i would not stop untill they do. but later on as the day progresses i eventually calm down and forget about it knowing that one person cant bring me down. its changed when im in an area around with friends people who have react positive.


2). My attitude in my service learning job, in my opinion has been great, it just depends on what situation im in. and knowing that if my attitude is negatively shown it could affect my school. i regularly show positive attitude towards everybody there, but it is never to late to work on some improvement and get more better at it.

3). i have negative influences at home in part of attitudes every day, but positive ones in school or with my friends especially with teachers here that influence me the most in being positive, but i have been used to negativity at home that i am almost used to it i just get away from the situation and concentrate on something else i still have to work on it. i for one think bad attitudes are contagious but theres always some medicine for it to go away fast and have it stay like that. you just have to know what it is.


I agree My personality type has been good in my internship no doubt about it. i think there are no challenges for me that of my personality could affect in my future career having that in mentality. ive had some positive experiences and learned new stuff in screen printing business which changed the way i thought of it, but no negative ones. i look forward in learning more and more about how this type of business runs on a daily basis.

Topic 4 identifying your learning style

My experience so far in the screen printing business has been great so far, the profession has taught me new stuff every day i go there. learning that not all fine art can be created by hand or a pencil, it can be used with computers now and days with technology to make logos in signs which is part of screen printing along with pictures and company names on t-shirts. my time being there i have been peeling of sitcker like paper backgrounds of a big printed page of sitcker to so the logo and lettering are seen then afterwards have it wrapped in some special tape all over it and place it on a big plastic laminated poster stickin to it then slowly peel it while the letters stick to the poster finishing it off with a wet cloth to clean it up from dirt and debree,then clean up my work area.


Ive been cooperative with everyone at my workplace, showing decent manners doing what im suppose to do show respect at all times learned alot through communication. my positive experiences ive had was with how i was surprised in how easy it was everything was in making that type of art. ive learned good discipline and organizing stuff and how to be clean at the same time. so far i havnt had any negative experiences, hope not to, becuase i am really interested in this profession and i am looking forward to learning what more art can be done and come out printed on either a poster or on a t-shirt.


This could be a good learning asset to i guess my career in the advertising business shows how art is represented in many ways to be seen by the world using technology, all i really need to learn is to be computer smart when coming to do a design and to be patience which i am dealing with right now along with having to be an organized person im am looking forward to reach those goals in life and in a career.
